This bus was sort of an urban myth that I knew to be true. I had known about this bus for about 7 years.
The owner bought it in '81 with 50,000 kms. Between '81 and 2003 he put on another 50,000 kms. He took the occasional
trip but other than that the bus was stored in a heated garage for 22 years. Amazing condition.

The previous owner was from a very small farming community in Manitoba. He passed on in February 2003. I
let the family know that if they decided to sell this bus I was interested. A short time later they said it was for
sale and I jumped on it. I'm on a few VW Bus mailing lists and I posted a story of my trip from Manitoba to
Kingston. Some folks found it funny so ... I attach it Gettin' Home
